I am pleased to introduce myself as your school counselor.  My name is Darva Randolph. I started the first day of school and in my brief time here, I am so impressed with the students, the teachers, the administration, the parents and the quality educational process being implemented.

I have been in the education field for approximately forty years both as an administrator and a counselor.  Most of these years have been with the Albuquerque Public Schools and I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with all grade levels including supervising adults. I have a Master’s of Science in Counseling from San Diego State University, an Ed.S Certificate in administration from UNM and my BS is from New Mexico State University.  I am from the Acoma Pueblo and have a family home on top of our 350 ft high mesa called the Sky City. You are always invited to visit.

With the range of grade levels, K-7, at our school, I will be offering a counseling program and services that is age and developmentally appropriate.  Areas of focus for students will be in supporting their academic learning, emotional and social learning, career exploration and goal

setting.  I will provide individual and small group counseling and classroom guidance sessions customized to student and teacher needs.

I will be available for parents and teachers to work in consultation with them to support their students in all areas of academics, emotional/social concerns, behavioral concerns, career interests, etc.  As needed, I will provide support during parent/teacher conferences and I am also a trained mediator, both student to student and family mediation.

I believe in our children and I look forward to helping them continue learning about themselves.
